Ms Foong Li Li

At 85 years of age, Mr Chang has lived a life full of challenges and experiences. A World War ll survivor, a teaching career that spanned 33 years, but none more so than his battle with cancer. He was first diagnosed with Sarcoma in 2011 and in 2015 had to undergo an above elbow amputation when his cancer relapsed. He has since been a shining inspiration to all who have come to know him for his amazing spirit, positive attitude and generosity in time and heart. Joining the Sarcoma Support Group has given Mr Chang a platform where he finds common ground and empathy with fellow patients, survivors, and caregivers. They have been a pillar of support for him. In Mr Chang’s words:
“At the end of the day, we all die. It is whether we live a good life or not. For me, living with one arm may be an inconvenience, but that does not stop me from leading a good life and keeping active.”
